Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if my smartphone runs out of battery while using Phonecam?
Phonecam is powered directly by your smartphone, so if your phone runs out of battery, the camera will also stop working. The benefit of this design is that Phonecam never needs to be recharged separately and uses only 3% of your smartphone battery in standby mode. Therefore, if your phone is ready, your Phonecam is too.
Does Phonecam work without being connected to my smartphone?
No. Phonecam is intentionally designed to rely on your smartphone for power, connectivity, and storage. This makes the device lighter and more compact, while being able to use your phone’s 4G/5G, GPS, and AI features. Hence, all management is done through the dedicated Phonecam app.
How quickly do my emergency contacts receive the alert?
Instantly. From the moment you press the activation button, your contacts immediately receive a notification with live video, audio, and your location. This quick alert ensures trusted people can take action right away.
Does PhoneCam work on iOS and Android?
PhoneCam is currently available on Android devices. Nevertheless, our team is actively working on an iOS version, which will be available soon, ensuring the best possible experience for all users.
What happens if I lose internet connection during an emergency?
If your Wi-Fi or 4G/5G connection is lost, real-time video and location data will no longer update. The map will show your last known position, and your contacts may temporarily lose the live stream. However, Phonecam continues recording locally on your phone, and once the connection is restored, the video is automatically uploaded to the Control Room.
Who has access to my live video and audio when I press the button?
Where are my recordings stored and can I access them?
Recordings are securely stored on your smartphone through the Phonecam app and, if active, in the Control Room system. You can review them anytime from your phone, while the Control Room provides backup and secure archiving.
Is Phonecam resistant to movement and daily use?
Yes. Phonecam’s magnetic mount keeps it firmly attached to your chest during activity, and its durable build is made for everyday use. It is splash-resistant and reliable in typical outdoor conditions.
